Magdeburger Dommusik

Mit bescheidener und weitgehend selbsterwirtschafteter finanziellen Ausstattung wird am Dom zu Magdeburg ein breites Angebot an sakraler Musik im Gottesdienst und Konzert gemacht, dank dem grossen Engagement vieler begeisterten und unermüdlichen Menschen.

Der Magdeburger Domchor gehört zu den leistungsfähigsten und flexibelsten Kirchenchören Deutschlands. Er befindet sich seit etlichen Jahren in einem Prozess der Umstrukturierung, das bis etwa 2008 abgeschlossen sein sollte.

Die Dombläser gibt es seit 1999. Wachstum an Mitgliederzahl und Können geben immer wieder Grund zur Freude.

Die Orgelmusik hat einen festen Platz im musikalischen Geschehen am Dom. Noch ist die instrumentale Ausstattung bescheiden; ab 2008 erklingt im großen Dom die neue Schuke- Orgel; mehr dazu erfahren Sie hier.

Despite a constant shortage of funding, Magdeburg Cathedral is blessed with a rich variety of sacred music in concert or recital and in divine service, thanks to the untiring efforts of a large number of enthusiastic helpers and participants.

The cathedral choir is one of the most flexible and able church choirs of its kind in the country, aware of its role in divine service but also fully able to acquit itself well in oratorio or unaccompanied choral concert. A restructuring of the choral department began a few years ago and should be complete by about 2008.

The cathedral brass group was founded in 1999 and has gone from strength to strength.

Organ music plays an important role in the musical life of the cathedral. The instruments presently at our disposal are modest; the new organ by Schuke Orgelbau (Potsdam) will be inaugurated in 2008. More information can be found here.
